Day 7 - Why a Boy Wanted to Get Sick During Christmas
Christmas has always been a magical time of year for me as a child.
I, weirdly enough, loved having a small flu during this time of year; somehow the runny nose and slightly delirious feeling brought me to an elevated state to open presents and be warm and fuzzy inside.
Along with this, my favourite memories included setting up a miniature electric train track around the dining room table, placing strange ornaments all over a fake tree and setting up a miniature snow-covered town complete with figures and carriages. My mother and I would create ridiculous Christmas horror scenarios with our little figurines and have a good laugh.
Looking back, we broke the common perception of a commercial white Christmas. The combination of all these experiences provided rather fond memories for me each year and reminded me of the simple joys of being thankful for my family.
